While attending the SSL party yesterday, i was informed by a friend that the goalies for EK look familiar to him. My friend who is not a SSL player (as he is only 25) play for one of the KLFA league team. He said that this guy is also currently playing for a KL league team in Division 1 of KL league. His team have played against this goalkeeper's team in the current KL league.
This has led me to ponder on the question of infringement of eligibility status of player once again.
Obviously our SSL rules stated that no player below the age of 35 are allowed to play in our league if he is also a registered player in the KL /Selangor FA's top 2 divisions. There have been in the past, issues raised against teams fielding players which were also registered in the KL/Selangor league and we were being told by Tan Tai Liang and Wayne that only those playing in the top two divisions of the State FA's league are barred. If this is the case, then I interpret this as Expert Klang have violated the SSL rules and regulations in registering an in-eligle player under the SSL rules and regulations.
The Expert Klang player concerned is MS-17.
I wonder if the SSL committee will close one eye on this issue? KL Galaxy have been deducted points earlier for playing an un-registered guy, and this time we have a team registering an in-eligible player.
I am not raising this issue as a question of Expert Klang's integrity, but merely pointing out to everyone that there is certainly a need for all teams intending to register those under the age of 35 to be aware of their status in the KL/Selangor league and checked with the player concerned before registering him.
As the final curtains have drawn down, i wish those winners to enjoy the moment, while the losers not to give up.
In the end, lets whatever we've learned from this season be a reminder for future conducts. Lets emphasize on Fair Play. Winning at all cost should be shunned upon.
